Remy Ma Details Squashing Beef With Nicki Minaj

Back in 2007, before Remy Ma started a six-year prison term, before Nicki Minaj became hip-hop's preeminent female rapper, the two had a small disagreement. A freestyle on Minaj's 2007 mixtape, "Playtime Is Over," contained lyrics many thought were directed at Remy.

Remy stopped by HuffPost Live on Friday to chat about her life post-incarceration, and told host Marc Lamont Hill about the perceived beef with Minaj and how it's died out.

"There was never really a battle brewing with me and Nicki. There was the one record, I know what record you're talking about," she said. "I had heard it, and she had a mixtape party or something and I was like 'I'm going to go to her party.' I went to her party and we met and it was cool. What ended up happening was that we were alright and we were on the same page. About a couple weeks later she ended up coming to my birthday party and right after that I ended up catching this case."

Remy has wasted little time getting in the studio since being released from prison Aug. 1, already appearing on the remix to DJ Khaled's "They Don't Love You No More."
