Frozen Pies To Eat Before The End Of Summer

Posted: Updated:

They say, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. We say, if you can't stand the heat, make a frozen pie instead.

Summer's scorching weather is no reason to sacrifice the joy of baking and eating pie. It's a dessert that deserves to be served year round, and with the help of a freezer (and sometimes a bit of ice cream), whipping up a succulent pie in the summer is not only a possibility, but a pleasure, too.

Frozen pies combine the best of both worlds -- flaky, buttery crust and delicious pie fillings, with the capacity to keep you cool. So, yes; frozen pie it will be.

Some of these recipes require no baking whatsoever, while others need just a bit to set up the crust. But they all have two things in common: They are cold, and we'd like to eat a slice right this minute.
