The Cake Decorating Robot Is A Vision From Our Sweetest Of Dreams

Posted: Updated:

We here at HuffPost Taste are constantly encouraging you to make things by hand, from scratch. Pie crust, soup stock, croissants -- we've been there, cheering you on the whole time. It tastes better, we've always said. And, it scores you life points.

Today, everything has changed. Our eyes have seen the future of cooking and we will never be the same.

Guys, there is now a robot to decorate your cakes. Let us repeat: a cake-decorating robot. This robot, from Unifiller, shoots out sweet, sweet frosting, evenly coats spongy cake and even tops them with decorative leaves (among other things). Chocolate cakes are frosted in mere seconds. Carrot cakes topped with orange and green frosting in even less time. It's AH-mazing. And, dare we say, a more important technological advance than even the Roomba.

One watch of this video and you will be instantly infuriated by all the time you've spent carefully frosting (and cursing) your three-layered cake. But, watch it anyway. It's pretty cool.
