WATCH: Protester Describes Being Injured During Arrest In Ferguson

For the past 11 days, protesters in Ferguson, Mo., have taken to the streets to call for justice in the shooting death of Michael Brown.

On Tuesday night, the situation appeared to have calmed. Then, around midnight central time, water bottles and urine were reportedly thrown at the police.

Officers responded with a show of force, forming a police line and wading into the crowd to find the perpetrators.

During a press conference early Wednesday, Missouri Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson said "violent instigators" were responsible for the tense encounter.

Leon Nelson, 18, of St. Louis, was injured in the clash with police.

"I guess a kid threw a plastic bottle towards the police officer and they got mad, and so you know, they just started chasing all the kids and all the adults and everything," Nelson told HuffPost reporter Ryan J. Reilly. "…While we was running, I turned around and I see these six officers behind me with a Taser aiming at my back. And they yelling at all the officers in front of me, telling 'em to get me."

Nelson, who denies throwing a water bottle, went on to describe how officers allegedly assaulted him. He was then taken into custody and detained for four hours.
