Twitter Reacts To The Peanut And Almond Butter Recall, Proving We're Addicted

We understand why we have to throw it out, but we're sad too.

It's always better to be safe than sorry, which is exactly why you need to throw out that peanut and almond butter in your cupboard.

As the Associated Press announced earlier this morning, a world-wide recall for nut butter has been issued due to increased fears of a salmonella outbreak.

Currently, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Kroger and Safeway have announced that they're pulling products from the shelves, along with those under the Hain Celestial Group Inc. umbrella. To search the entire list of companies and brands that have been recalled, you view the list issued by the FDA here.

While salmonella is nothing to joke about, these tweets and photos about The Great Nut Butter Recall of 2014 simply make us feel a bit better about throwing our favorite source of protein. And for the record -- we all really need to stop saying "nut butter."
