So Maybe IKEA Doesn't Ruin Relationships After All..

Posted: Updated:

If you've ever witnessed a couple on a shopping trip at Swedish superstore IKEA, it's safe to assume you're thinking what most of us are: "Go on a romantic walk through the park. Take a new and exciting cooking class together. Or, just cuddle up and watch your favorite movie. Whatever you do, do not spend your precious couple time here, much less trying to assemble the new bookshelf you're about to buy."

But despite what "30 Rock" has taught us, IKEA isn't the home wrecker it's been pegged as. Not buying it? BuzzFeedYellow has all the convincing proof you need in the video above. It turns out, whether you've been dating for a few weeks or a few decades, assembling a basic IKEA desk isn't going to single-handedly destroy your relationship, after all.

You'll need more than a solid strategy, however. As the new couple in the clip above found out: Like love, instructions alone aren't going to cut it.
