5 Seconds of Summer hit the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night to perform "Amnesia," but whether they wore American Apparel underwear during the appearance is unknown.

The boy band's self-titled debut album, which came out earlier this summer, landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The Aussie band decided to go with one of their slower jams for their VMAs performance instead of one of their more better-known upbeat hits, such as "She Looks So Perfect" or "Don't Stop."

Before the show, they took home the VMA for Best Lyric Video for "Don't Stop" and accepted their moonman on the red carpet. The group was also nominated in the Artist to Watch category for "She Looks So Perfect."
