A passenger has come forward to tell her story of what she says was sexual abuse at the hands of a Malaysian Airlines flight attendant.
Australian Laura Bushney, 26, tells Channel 7's Sunday Night that on a half-full August 4th flight from Kuala Lumpur to Paris, chief steward Mohd Rosli Bin Ab Karim sexually assaulted her under the guise of providing comfort.
Bushney told Sunday Night that the married 54-year-old started massaging her legs and even put his hands down her pants.
"I just keep saying why didn’t I scream, why didn’t I shout? Why didn’t I stop it? I am a strong person because I can do that, I know I can," Bushney said. "When I was in the moment I couldn’t. I felt so scared, so petrified."
But Bushney did record the incident with a cell phone camera concealed in her scarf.
Malaysian Airlines provided this response to the allegations.
"Malaysia Airlines can confirm that following allegations by a passenger travelling on flight MH20 from Kuala Lumpur to Paris on 4th August 2014 of inappropriate sexual behavior by a member of the cabin crew, the member of staff in question has been detained for questioning by the French police."
"Malaysia Airlines expects and accepts nothing short of the highest standards of conduct from its crew and takes any such allegations very seriously."
Malaysian Airlines has been surrounded by controversy ever since one of the company's planes went missing in March.
Then in July, another Malaysian Airlines plane was shot down over Ukraine, killing 298 people.
Earlier this month, the company announced it would become fully government-owned.
