Warning: This Video May Induce Arachnophobia

What's your first instinct if you come across a giant spider's nest? While most might say "run," one brave man took a wholly different approach: He poked it with a stick.

YouTube user angryrhyno, who shot the footage in Jersey, Channel Islands, writes:

"it's NOT an Australian funnel web, it's a native UK spider, I was gently stroking the web to get HER to come out so I could film her for a wildlife Facebook page. No harm intended."

The creature may not be the dangerous Australian funnel-web spider, but we'd still recommend against poking it all the same. Just saying.
