CeeLo Green Allegedly Tweets 'People Who Have Really Been Raped Remember'

CeeLo Green allegedly made controversial comments about rape on Twitter after pleading no contest to one felony count of furnishing ecstasy to a woman.

In 2012, a woman filed a police report accusing Green of sexual assault. The following year, Green pleaded not guilty to giving the woman ecstasy and his lawyer said any sexual contact between her client and the woman was consensual. Prosecutors declined to file a rape count due to lack of evidence.

Though a rape count was never filed, last Friday, Aug. 29, Green pleaded no contest in Los Angeles Superior Court to one felony count of furnishing ecstasy to a woman, according to the Associated Press. He was sentenced to three years of probation and 45 days of community service.

Green allegedly took to Twitter Sunday, Aug. 31, to discuss the case with his Twitter followers.

“If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously,” he tweeted, according to Buzzfeed, “People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!”

In one reply message, he also reportedly added: "If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH implies consent."

He deleted the tweets and returned to Twitter Monday to apologize, according to Billboard. He reiterated his regret the following night on Twitter, but also distanced himself from the controversial tweets. "I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe," the account tweeted.

"Let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom! Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context. I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I'd never condone the harm of any women. Thank you."

Green later deleted his Twitter account, but it has since been reactivated.

A representative for the former "The Voice" judge was not immediately available for comment.
