Adam Levine Taught Gwen Stefani How To Pronounce 'Colbert,' But It Didn't Work

Here's How Adam Levine Told Gwen Stefani To Say 'Colbert' At The Emmys

Stephen Colbore (Colborg? Cobort?) is the new Adele Dazeem, but Adam Levine didn't want it to be that way.

While chatting with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night, Levine told the "Tonight Show" host that he did his best to help a nervous Gwen Stefani pronounce Stephen Colbert's name correctly while presenting at the Emmy Awards.

“We’re going up there, and the whole time she’s like, ‘I can’t pronounce Colbert. I can’t pronounce it,'" Levine said of the "No Doubt" singer. He tried to explain to her that it was like saying "cold bear," but she still ended up saying "The Colbore Report" ... or something like that.

But Colbert took it in stride, saying that he was due for a name change anyway.

"I think I might just change my name to Colborg," he told reporters later. "I am the Colborg -- resistance is futile. Oh, you will be absorbed."

Hey, you can't say Levine didn't try!
