Alan Grayson: 'Dick Cheney Never Met A War He Didn't Like'

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) weighed in Wednesday on former Vice President Dick Cheney’s remarks that the U.S. needs to do more to counter the Islamic State, the militant group also known as ISIS.

“Dick Cheney never met a war he didn’t like,” said Grayson in an interview with HuffPost Live.

Cheney, one of the chief architects of the 2003 intervention in Iraq, met with House GOP members on Tuesday, arguing that stronger action needs to be taken against the Islamic State.

Reactions to Cheney’s comments were predictably mixed. While many House Republicans agreed with the former vice president’s strategy, Democrats were more dismissive.

“If we had taken their advice last year, then today ISIS wouldn’t be attacking with knives to necks but rather with chemical weapons,” said Grayson.

President Barack Obama is set to address the nation on Wednesday night about the Islamic State.
