The Key To Experiencing Freedom From Fear

The key to experiencing freedom from fear is receiving support and wisdom from loved ones, as well as being mindful of when you're approaching things from a place of fear, said actress Judith Light during a visit to HuffPost Live on Monday.

"You can tell the difference between when you're in your head, and you're fearful, and you're driving yourself, and you're going, 'Oh my God, what's going to happen for me next?' [versus] when you're in your experience, when you're in your own body, and you're operating from your heart," said Light, who stopped by to discuss her role on "Dallas" and her involvement with the National Council On Aging's Flu + You campaign. "You know the difference. You know how it feels."

And if you're having trouble distancing yourself from that sense of fear, dig deep into yourself to find the strength that pushes you forward, Light told HuffPost Live host Marc Lamont Hill.

"We have to remember that there is an aspect of faith, and I'm not talking about religion. I'm talking about real, honest-to-goodness faith in one's life, thought process and soul that leads you into a direction," Light said.

Light also spoke about the recent death of comedy icon Joan Rivers (Light wrote a tweet about a conversation she had with the comedienne recently). Rivers' words also spoke to Light's dedication to living without fear.

"We sat at a Christmas party, a holiday party, and she was saying, 'I say 'yes' to everything,'" Light said of Rivers. "'Yes' is such a powerful place to come from, and she was all about 'yes.' And I think that's why her career had the longevity it did."
