Clemson Football Builds Houses For Charity, Shows The Best Kind Of Teamwork

Clemson Football's House-Building Is Best Kind Of Teamwork

Now this is teamwork.

The Clemson University football team built a foundation for the future Tuesday -- and it had nothing to do with gridiron glory. The team helped construct three houses for families in need in Anderson, S.C., as part of Habitat for Humanity.

"Today is a day that we disengage from football and give," said Clemson coach Dabo Swinney in the video above.

The coach said his players met the "deserving people who are trying hard to better themselves" so there would be faces and names to those who would occupy the dwellings.

The coach added that he wanted his players to be "givers," and the Tigers seemed to get the message. "It is a different kind of work," offensive lineman Eric Mac Lain told Fox Carolina. "You really get an appreciation for people who do this in their livelihood. People do this as their jobs every day. And we are really working hard."

While scoring major good Samaritan points, the Tigers will probably have to score plenty of the football kind on Sept. 20 against top-ranked Florida State and its Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, Jameis Winston. If college sports fans were undecided about which team to root for, well, we think the above is definitely in Clemson's favor.
