Arab-Jewish Funk Duo Make Joyous Music Together

Chromeo, the Arab-Jewish musical duo who made a splash this spring with their latest album “White Women,” joined HuffPost Live for a chat on Thursday.

Canadians David Macklovitch and Patrick Gemayel met in high school and have been making electro-funk music together for 10 years. The pair claim they’ve discovered much in common, despite coming from backgrounds that are traditionally at odds.

“People can kind of look at the music we make, see who we are, where we come from and say, ‘Wow those guys came together,'” Macklovitch said. “[It] goes to show you [we] could put aside all the differences in the world and make this kind of joyous music.”
