Kanye West already stood up for Kanye West, but Kim Kardashian is defending her husband after what will henceforth be known as the Wheelchair Incident of 2014.

The story goes that at West's show in Sydney on Sept. 12, he demanded everyone rise to their feet and refused to perform until they stood up. "I can't do this show until everybody stand up. Unless you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and shit," he told the crowd. West became annoyed when he saw that there was only a single fan that remained seated. "Now, if he is in a wheelchair, it’s fine. Is he in a wheelchair right there?” The crowd screamed in the affirmative, and West had a bodyguard investigate that the concert-goer was actually wheelchair-bound, before he launched into “Good Life." The entire scene was captured on video, and it's pretty cringeworthy.

Kardashian chimed in on Monday to defend her beloved. The 33-year-old posted a video of West's performance on Instagram, and wrote:

What an amazing Australian tour! Its frustrating that something so awesome could be clouded by lies in the media. Kanye never asked anyone in a wheel chair to stand up & the audience videos show that. He asked for everyone to stand up & dance UNLESS they were in a wheel chair. #JustWantedEveryoneToHaveAFunNight #TheMediaTwistsThings

Meanwhile, at his Brisbane show on Monday, West launched into a five-minute rant about the media "demonizing" him, demanding they "pick another target." There's video of that, too.

It's true that West asked everyone not in a wheelchair to stand up, and that's how it was reported. But it's unfortunate that neither West nor Kardashian understand a simple fact: West is taking heat because he had the audacity to insist that a fan prove himself physically unable to stand or he would not continue with the show.
