Nike Suspends Contract With Adrian Peterson Amid Child Abuse Case

Nike issued a statement on Wednesday that it has suspended its contract with Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson amid charges that he abused his son.

Nike in no way condones child abuse or domestic violence of any kind and has shared our concerns with the NFL.

We have suspended our contract with Adrian Peterson.

Meanwhile, the Vikings announced early on Wednesday morning that they placed Peterson on the Exempt/Commissioner's Permission list and ordered him to keep away from all team activities until the legal process concludes.

Last week, Nike cut ties with former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice after the release of a video showing him punching his then-fiancee in a casino elevator back in February 2014.

On Tuesday, other prominent NFL sponsors such as Visa and Anheuser-Busch, expressed concern over the league's recent spate of off-the-field scandals.
