After Butterfly Lands On Flutist's Face During Competition, She Lets It Stay And Enjoy The Show

The show must go on, indeed.

When a butterfly landed on the nose of flutist Yukie Ota during a performance at Denmark's 2014 Carl Nielsen International Flute Competition, the musician kept playing like nothing was amiss.

The Japanese-born, Chicago-based Ota finished her solo and later referred to the incident as a "piece of magic."

Ota has progressed to the semifinal of the competition, which will take place Friday, Sept. 19.

Brava, Ota!
