Man Grabs Shark With His Bare Hands, Because Florida (VIDEO)

WATCH: Man Grabs Shark With His Bare Hands

If you give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he'll eat for a lifetime. But if you're fishing in Florida, chances are something crazy will happen.

The proof is in the video above.

After a fisherman hooked a shark from a rocky shore in Palm Beach County, Florida, one brave guy went against common human instinct and jumped in after it.

As the clip shows, with his head above water, he begins feeling around for the shark with his bare hands. When he finally locates it, he lifts it above water and proudly displays it to the crowd.

The camera cuts off as the guy turns his back to the crowd, but Greg Pace, the YouTube user who uploaded the video, explained in his description that the man unhooked the shark and released it back into the ocean.

"This guy couldn't land the shark on the rocks," Pace wrote, which seems to suggest that the fisherman had intentionally tried to catch the shark, as many Florida anglers have been known to do.

Pace also speculates that the creature may have been a blacktip shark, which, according to the Florida Museum of Natural History, is commonly sought after for catch-and-release by anglers in the Atlantic. (Florida even has an entire catch-and-release fishing competition just for capturing blacktips.)

While it's technically legal to land blacktip sharks, many other shark species are off limits to anglers. That includes tiger sharks, great whites and various species of hammerhead (view the full list here).

We just hope everyone, including the shark, made it away unharmed.
