Fiona Apple's first new song since 2012 (not recorded for a Chipotle campaign about factory farming, that is) is here. Titled "Container," the ghostly track scores the opening-credit sequence for Showtime's anticipated new drama "The Affair," which stars Dominic West, Maura Tierney, Ruth Wilson and Joshua Jackson.

The show's executive producer, Sarah Treem, who's also worked on "House of Cards" and "In Treatment," said in a statement that Apple has been her favorite songwriter since she was 16. "If our show can approach one tenth of the depth and complexity of her song, I’ll be very happy," Treem said. Based on the dark lyrics and "Six Feet Under"-esque imagery in the opening credits, which were produced by The Thomas Cobb Group, Treem must be quite pleased.
