Learn Two Simple Recipes. Become Cupcake-Baking Genius.

So many cupcakes.

Baking can be hard, but tricks make it easier. Like finding a butter tray that tells you when your butter has reached room temperature, or knowing to use a box grater to save the cookies you burned -- again.

The fine ladies at A Beautiful Mess understand the stresses of baking and they've shared their secret for making it effortless. Their magic baking trick is turning two basic cupcakes into six exciting recipes -- without having to test and learn a new recipe. Just look at all the cupcakes they've made!

A Beautiful Mess

It's very simple and pretty genius, too. Here's what you do:

  1. Master your favorite vanilla and chocolate cupcake recipe. (If you don't have one, check out these.)
  2. Master your favorite frosting recipe. (There are good ones over here.)
  3. Let yourself get creative with jams, peanut butter, sprinkles, cookies, candies, marshmallow creams, etc.
  4. Eat a million different kinds of cupcakes.

While Emma and Elsie of A Beautiful Mess only gave us six examples of how to turn basic cupcakes and frosting recipes into something more, their ideas should be used as a jumping off point. For example, you can add Oreo crumbs in place of sprinkles. You can mix Nutella or cookie butter into the frosting. Or lemon zest. Or booze. Or. Or. Or.

Guys, the possibilities are endless.

Check out how Emma and Elsie get creative with their two basic cupcake recipes. And then let your imagination -- or stomach -- run wild.
