Man Busted Trying To Hide Child Porn From Wife

A Washington audio engineer allegedly trying to conceal pornography from his wife was arrested after computer technicians hired to wipe his laptop found child porn on the device.

The tech reported the alleged discovery of two videos to the FBI, which started an investigation that led to the arrest of James Rivers, 57, last week.

Police documents said the videos show Rivers carefully placing recording equipment into a tissue box in his bathroom and positioning it so it captures the genital and chest area of a young girl on two occasions.

One video shows the girl getting into a shower and the second is a 14-minute video of her taking a bath, KIRO TV reports.

Police in Kent, Washington, arrested Rivers Oct. 9 at a recording studio in Sumner, Washington. He was released the next day after paying $300,000 bail.

Investigators said Rivers told them he was having problems with his wife and did not want her to divorce him over pornography that was on the computer. He allegedly claimed that he made videos of the girl to see if she'd been using excessive amounts of shampoo

When investigators spoke to Rivers' wife, she allegedly told them she had a "gut feeling that something was not right," the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.

Rivers, who's toured with Queensryche, Whitesnake and Bad Company, allegedly confessed making the recordings to police. He also allegedly confessed to sexually assaulting a child, but "maintained that he was on medication and had drunk wine, causing him to black out during the incident,” according to the charging papers.

Rivers has been charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
