Teen Who Pretended To Be A Physician Assistant And Performed CPR In The ER

Imagine finding out that one of the people treating your loved one in the emergency room was not a doctor, a nurse, a physician assistant or even a medical school intern — just a teenager who practically walked in off the street.

When Matthew Scheidt was 17 years old, he donned a white lab coat and impersonated a physician assistant in a Florida Hospital. Without any qualifications, he even performed CPR. He was ultimately convicted of impersonating a physician assistant and practicing medicine without a license.

In a Dr. Phil exclusive, Matthew, speaks out for the first time. “Now, as I look back, it was, of course, the worst decision that I ever made,” he tells Dr. Phil in the video above.

How did the teen impersonate a physician assistant and treat patients? Find out what motivated him – and if he’s changed his ways – when he sits down with Dr. Phil on Thursday. Check here for local listings.
