LeBron Returned To Akron For An Unofficial, Heartwarming 'First Home Game'

LeBron James' first regular-season home game since returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers is just days away. But his first "home game" already happened. In a new Sprite commercial, the four-time NBA MVP explains that his first home game actually took place at Patterson Park in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.

"They say home is where your heart is. My heart is here. It's always been. This is my first home game," LeBron says just before joining a pick-up game.

According to the description accompanying the video on YouTube, Sprite teamed up with city officials to "transform" Patterson Park:

Sprite worked with city officials to turn Patterson Park, which hadn’t been updated in more than 20 years, into a blank canvas for New York urban artist Futura to transform. Once the court was transformed, Sprite held a pickup game and basketball clinic for the community to enjoy. That’s when LeBron showed up to celebrate the new courts and his arrival back home.
