Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.) was projected to defeat Democrat Ron Leach in the state's 2nd Congressional District on Tuesday.
Guthrie was first elected to Congress in 2009, and previously served in the Kentucky state Senate. His opponent is a veteran with multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
