Democrat Elisabeth Jensen was projected to lose her race against Rep. Andy Barr (R-Ky.) in the state's 6th Congressional District on Tuesday.

Jensen, who runs an education nonprofit in Lexington, worked to distance herself from President Barack Obama, who remains unpopular in the state.

Barr was first elected to Congress in 2012, after previously working as an attorney and in Republican politics. He also ran for the seat unsuccessfully in 2010, losing by just a few hundred votes.
