Jeff Bell has been defeated by incumbent Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) in his bid to represent New Jersey in the U.S. Senate.
Bell narrowly won the Republican primary in New Jersey, besting three other candidates by a small margin.
Booker has served in the Senate since 2013. Prior to serving in the Senate, Booker was mayor of Newark, New Jersey.
