Rodney Davis Defeats Ann Callis In Illinois

Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) defeated Democratic challenger Ann Callis in Illinois' 13th congressional district on Tuesday.

The race was one of the most competitive in the state. Davis narrowly won his seat in 2012, and was seen as a vulnerable incumbent after the boundaries of the district were redrawn to include more Democratic voters.

The race was also filled with attack ads, as Callis -- the former chief judge of Illinois' Third Judicial Circut -- accused Davis in an ad of spending $40,000 at steakhouses to wine and dine Washington, D.C. elites. Davis, in turn, accused her of being a resident of Missouri and failing to pay property taxes on time.
