Tom Foley Concedes Connecticut Gubernatorial Race To Dannel Malloy

Republican businessman Tom Foley conceded to Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy (D) in one of the nation's most competitive gubernatorial contests on Wednesday.

The race was a rematch between the two candidates, as Malloy beat Foley by just over 6,000 votes in 2010.

Foley defeated Connecticut state Senate Minority Leader John McKinney to win the Republican nomination earlier this year. Leading up to the primary, he worked to avoid discussing gun control measures he'd support, despite the shooting at the Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut that left 20 children and six educators dead.
