Faith Evans Details Upcoming Duet Album With Notorious B.I.G.

Faith Evans Confirms Duet Album With Notorious B.I.G.

For anyone who grew up listening to '90s hip-hop, Notorious B.I.G.'s "Ready To Die" was a must-have for your tape deck when it came out in 1994. Twenty years later -- and nearly 18 years after the rapper's tragic death -- we could be hearing some new Biggie in the near future.

Faith Evans, Biggie's wife and a R&B star in her own right, said in a HuffPost Live interview Monday that she has full permission to make a duet album with her late husband (real name Christopher Wallace), titled "The King And I."

"I've been thinking that it would be something great to do for a long time," Evans told host Marc Lamont Hill. "And I told Mrs. Wallace [Biggie's mother] several years ago that one day I want to do this. So we have her blessing on it."

Evans said she plans on making all new music on the album, not just remixes of Biggie's catalog.

"I'm making completely new records, some of which will be mostly me singing and maybe him rapping a bridge. Some of which will be him rapping most of the song and maybe me just singing the hooks," she said. "But I'm going to play around with it. I have a few ideas."
