Adam Sandler Tops Forbes' 'Most Overpaid Actors' List Again

It's not a good time to be Adam Sandler.

After getting kicked around in leaked emails that came out as part of the Sony hack (his films were called "mundane, formulaic" while Sony co-chair Amy Pascal wrote that he acted like an "asshile" [sic]), Sandler has topped Forbes' list of the "Most Overpaid Actors in Hollywood" for the second year in a row.

According to Forbes, for every $1 Sandler was paid, "he returned an average of $3.20." That's down from last year when Forbes estimated that actor brought back $3.40 for every dollar.

Sandler had a rough year at the box office. His comedy "Blended," with Drew Barrymore, earned only $46 million in North America. Yet "Blended" was a smash in comparison to "Men, Women & Children." The ensemble drama, where Sandler co-starred as a downbeat dad who uses the Internet to fulfill his sexual desires, grossed just $705,908 total.

Also included on Forbes' 2014 list of overpaid actors is Johnny Depp, whose last three movies returned an average of $4.10 for every $1 he was paid. Ben Stiller's recent projects made an average of $4.80 for every $1 he’s been paid.

As for Sandler, while he recently signed a four-picture deal with Netflix, Sony will release his next two studio projects: "Pixels" and "Hotel Transylvania 2."
