Bikes, Bars And An Art Collective: How Kinfolk Is Targeting Creative People

For the founders of Kinfolk, developing a thriving company came second to creative pursuits. That the brand -- which has bars in Tokyo and Brooklyn (the latter one also holding a coffee house-art gallery) and a bike line -- was able to do both was the icing on the cake.

"In the beginning, it was really about doing things that we enjoyed," Ryan Carney, one of the co-founders, told HuffPost Live on Thursday. "We know we like bicycles, we like to go out and have a cocktail, we like coffee shops, we like art, we like to be creative. And it was just about how do we spend our lives doing these things that we love and making them successful business so that we can survive."

With plans to expand to Los Angeles -- and likely beyond -- it's clear that the Kinfolk founders have been able to do just that.
