Ilyse Hogue is the president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, one of the country's leading reproductive rights advocacy organizations. But Hogue didn't grow up wanting to be a pro-choice firebrand or even a women's rights advocate. For most of her life she wanted to spend her time in rural Montana or the jungles of the Amazon. Yet her leadership has revitalized NARAL, bringing the organization into the digital age and looping in more Millennials and pro-choice men. Hogue talked to Cosmopolitan.com about taking big risks, learning to be your own best advocate, and the power in women telling their truths.
