When it comes to networking, the genuine connections you make matter far more than the stack of business cards you collect. Erica Dhawan, the co-author of Get Big Things Done by Erica Dhawan and Saj-nicole Joni, joined HuffPost Live host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani today to discuss a concept called connectional intelligence and how it can lead us to make more profound changes in the world than by networking alone.
"We often think networking is the key to success, and we actually debunk that as a myth, because having a lot of networks doesn't necessarily lead to measurable change," said Dhawan. "The key is how you combine your networks, your resources, your ideas and people to get something big done. That's really the shift -- whereas networking might be around amassing the business cards, connectional intelligence is about tapping into what your dreams are, reminding yourself what they are, connecting with them at a deeper level, finding people across the world who care about the same things, and making something happen."
