Middle School Teacher Pleads Guilty To Rape Of 13-Year-Old Student

A middle school teacher in Kentucky pleaded guilty Thursday to charges of sodomy, second-degree rape and sexual abuse stemming from her inappropriate relationship with a 13-year-old student.

Jessica Boyers, 26, accepted a plea deal Friday in Oldham Circuit Court. She waived her right to a trial and agreed to a 12-year prison sentence. The former language arts teacher will also register as a sex offender and complete a sex offender treatment program.

Boyers was arrested in April 2013 when police caught her in a car with the victim in a Louisville park. She resigned from her position with the school district shortly after.

Boyers initially denied sexual involvement with the victim, a male student at Highland Middle School in Louisville. In a taped 2013 police interview obtained by the Courier-Journal (above), Boyers tells an investigator that the victim is lying and that they never had sex.

"We've never had sex, ever." Boyers tells the officer. "I don't know why he would lie about that."

The cop tells her that the victim has told police they had sex on multiple occasions, that he described her giving him oral sex, and that he saved a condom from a past sexual encounter that has Boyers' DNA on it.

Boyers continued to deny she had sex with the boy, but admits that they'd kissed.

She faced almost 40 counts in the case, WLKY reported in 2014.
