In Breakfast News, Kevin Bacon Is Now A Spokesperson For Eggs (This Is Not A Yolk)

The play-on-words is positively egg-cellent.

If anyone knows eggs, it's bacon. Kevin Bacon.

The actor was recently poached as the American Egg Board's newest celebrity apostle, using his last name as a gateway to educate Americans about the benefits of eggs -- the world's most perfect protein. "With a last name like Bacon, I'm the obvious choice, and I'm excited to be a part of the new Incredible Edible Egg campaign," Bacon said in a statement. "I like the creativity behind the idea, and I've always been a big fan of eggs."

It's hard not to back the campaign's fun play-on-words... and eggs in general. They're a terrific, versatile food that boasts incredible (edible) benefits, like curbing food cravings, reducing blood pressure and even improving reflexes.

For years, the AEB has been trying to debunk the myth that eggs are unhealthy. Many believe that the yolk of an egg, which is high in cholesterol, contributes to high cholesterol when ingested. However, several studies have found that, for the most part, moderate consumption of yolks do not contribute to high cholesterol.

In the web short, Bacon sneaks up on a woman cooking eggs for breakfast. "Are you ready to start eating a nutritional powerhouse of a breakfast?" he asks her. She consents. You can watch the longer (even more hilarious and sexually charged) clip below:
