Irish Kids Encourage Citizens To Vote 'Yes' On Marriage Equality Referendum

These Kids Talking About Marriage Equality Will Give You Hope For The Future

Straight from the mouths of babes, these kids are here to teach you a thing or two about marriage equality.

If you've been out of the loop, the Irish lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community is currently fighting for citizens to vote "Yes" on the country's Marriage Equality Referendum on May 22. While public opinion is currently divided about marriage rights for same-sex couples, various campaigns have released videos that aim to put human faces to the lives affected by this legislation.

In this video, "Kids Say Yes for Marriage Equality in Ireland," a few kids offer their opinions about same-sex couples getting married. According to the Kids Say Yes YouTube page, the video was made by a mother in a same-sex relationship who is "frustrated with the lack of kids’ voices in media debates" about the referendum.

At the very least, videos like this give us hope for a more tolerant future generation of leaders.

"I think it's nice the way the whole world is different," one child shares in the above video. Another child adds, "You get a different experience with every family."
