Widow In Love Triangle: ‘He Didn't Die Fighting For Me; He Died Fighting For Her'

In the small town of Meridian, Idaho, a love triangle turned deadly in 2011 when Emmett Corrigan, who had five children with his wife, Ashlee, was shot in the head and killed by Rob Hall — whose wife of 19 years, Kandi, was cheating on him with Emmett. Rob went to confront Emmett, and prosecutors allege that Rob shot Emmett twice. Rob, who claimed he was acting in self-defense, was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Ashlee, a stay-at-home mom, says she had no idea her husband was having an affair until police revealed the details of the fatal shooting. In the video above, she recalls the night of Emmett’s death.

“At the same second that I found out he was dead, I found out it was because he had been unfaithful,” Ashlee says. “The hardest thing to hear was Kandi was holding Emmett in her arms as he died. I wanted to scream, ‘You don’t have the right to watch him take his last breath; he wasn’t yours.’ He didn’t die fighting for me; he died fighting for her.”

On Tuesday's episode of Dr. Phil, Ashlee and Kandi come face to face for the first time since the trial four years ago. Watch here.
