Ted Mosby has made a lot of mistakes on "How I Met Your Mother," but none was bigger than the mistake fans made getting attached to the spinoff, "How I Met Your Dad."

In fact, around this time last year, Meg Ryan was even announced as the "voice of the mother on the show." Yep, it was going to be legen ... wait for it ... dary! Then things turned out worse than when Ted got in a fight with a goat. The spinoff was rejected, and Meg Ryan was left staring at her computer waiting for Tom Hanks to email. Or something.
