Perez Hilton is a father again.
The 37-year-old celebrity blogger and multimedia entrepreneur welcomed daughter Mia Alma on May 9 via surrogate. Hilton, who also a son, Mario Armando Lavandeira III, made the surprise announcement on Instagram and his website.
"The road to this birth has been a difficult journey, quite different from the first time, and my son and I are overjoyed at this happy and healthy addition to our family," Hilton said in a statement on his official website. "Every child is a blessing and this Mother's Day was extra blessed for me and my mother!"
In an interview, Hilton told the Associated Press that his daughter's name means "my soul" in Spanish, "because I'm cheesy like that."
Hilton did not reveal where the child was born to protect the surrogate's identity, and as noted by the AP, hadn't told anyone aside from his mother and his sister that he was expecting another child.
"It's been the hardest secret I've kept in a long time," Hilton, who is single, said. "I'm excited for the two of them, so they can have each other and my son can look after her. It's a real family now."
Congrats to all!
