Jon Stewart Finds Out Why Allergies Really Are Worse Than Ever

Jon Stewart Gets Schooled On Allergies

Jon Stewart engaged in one of his favorite sports during "The Daily Show" on Wednesday night: mocking the media for its hyperbolic coverage.

This year's allergy season is being called the "pollen tsunami." Last year, it was the "pollen vortex." And as he showed in clip after clip, TV news reporters have claimed that each year was the worst year for allergies ever.

"How could every year be the worst ever? What is it, the Knicks?" Stewart said, referring to New York's hapless basketball team.

Amidst his diatribe, Stewart was interrupted by Mike Tringale of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, who explained that all those breathless news reports were actually true. In recent years, each allergy season really has been worse than the previous one.

And you can blame global warming.

Check it out in the clip above.
