Rolling Stone reporter Matt Taibbi says the media has failed to come to terms with its role in rallying the country into the Iraq War.
In a conversation with HuffPost Live's Alyona Minkovski on Wednesday, Taibbi said there was a "massive failure" in journalism "covering that entire run-up to the Iraq invasion." "We've never really come to grips with the enormity of that mistake," he said. "We've never sat down and talked about what we can do to make sure it never happens again."
He added that it is "a little bit odd to see so many of the same media outlets that were cheerleaders for the Iraq war piling on Jeb Bush," who recently stumbled through questions about how he would have handled the Iraq invasion.
