Americans Try Colombian Food, Make Our Mouths Water Instantly

Colombian food sure knows how to make an impression.

In an updated video originally posted by BuzzFeed back in April, Americans tried Colombian food and had some pretty strong feelings.

"Love plantains when they’re fried once. I love them even more if they’re fried twice," one participant said after trying patacones, or fried green plantains.

Another taste tester said the chorizo smelled "incredible," while others compared the obleas (thin and round wafers) with arequipe to a "giant Nutter Butter" and "Colombian Oreo."

The buñuelos though were responsible for the best (and most pop culture-filled) reaction of all.

"I kind of think it looks like a Pokéball that was discovered by Indiana Jones," one participant said of the cheese fritters served as a special dish near Christmas time and enjoyed throughout the year.

If that doesn’t make you want to try buñuelos, we don’t know what will.
