Evelyn Lozada's Pregnancy Joy Shattered By Troubling News From Her Doctor

Evelyn Lozada struggled with some very personal news during the premiere of her new reality show, "Livin' Lozada," on Saturday.

The former "Basketball Wives" star and ex-wife of Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson had chosen to stay out of the spotlight for the last two years to work on herself, addressing her anger issues and her fears. With a new life and a new perspective, Lozada, who got engaged to baseball player Carl Crawford in 2013, returns to reality television alongside her two children: Shaniece, 21, and Leo, 1. Their unique mother-child dynamic is a large part of the series, and it's a particularly raw conversation with daughter Shaniece that opens the floodgates.

In the above clip from the premiere of "Livin' Lozada," the 39-year-old star heads to Shaniece's house to share what she had hoped would be good news: She's six weeks pregnant. However, on the way there, Lozada received an unexpected phone call from her doctor's office and now must share the troubling update with her daughter.

"It's not good," Lozada says tearfully. "I went [to the doctor] yesterday and she's like, 'Everything seems fine.' When I was on my way here, she left me a voicemail. She said that my hormone levels have dropped. When you're pregnant, your hormone levels are supposed to be in the thousands; [mine] went all the way down to 50."

The doctor explained the likely outcome. "Most likely, I'm going to end up miscarrying the baby," Lozada says.

As both mother and daughter shed tears, Lozada opens up more about her heartache. "Now, I'm just walking around, like just waiting for it to happen," she says, burying her face in her hands.

Lozada adds that her thoughts about this pregnancy have been racing. "I was like, 'Maybe I'll have a boy,' and then I was like, 'Maybe I'll have a girl. Then she'll be like Sha,'" she says. "I swear to God, I thought about so many things."

Shanice wonders if there's a possibility things will change for the pregnancy, but Lozada can't be sure. "It's like a waiting game. I don't know," she says.

In the meantime, Lozada insists on holding onto hope, and strongly believes in staying positive about the pregnancy going to term.

"This is going to happen," she says. "I'm sure many women have gone through this, and this is going to happen... We're going to have this baby. It's going to be a miracle. A miracle baby."

Lozada learns more information about the pregnancy next week on "Livin' Lozada." (Saturday, July 18, at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.)
