Minor Leaguer Leaves Ronda Rousey A Ticket For Every Game

His tweets to the UFC fighter are a hit.

If romantic persistence were the only ingredient necessary to make it to the major leagues, Anthony Giansanti would be there by now.

Giansanti, who plays for the Chicago Cubs' AAA minor league affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa, has been leaving UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey a free ticket for all of his games in the unlikely hope that she'll show up to watch him play.

The left fielder has been letting Rousey know about her tickets on Twitter, and the messages are pretty hilarious.

Giansanti said in an earlier tweet that he and Rousey were a perfect match.

But Rousey hits better in her sport than Giansanti does in his. The baseball player's batting average was an anemic .176 in five games with the team, as of Tuesday afternoon. Giansanti has been on the disabled list with a hamstring injury, according to his bio.

Still, we admire the guy's determination.
