Zuckerberg And Chan Announce Pregnancy, Past Struggles With Miscarriage

"I'm already convinced she takes after me," Zuck said.

Congratulations are in order for Mark Zuckerberg.

The 31-year-old Facebook co-founder announced he's expecting a healthy baby girl with his wife, Priscilla Chan.

"This will be a new chapter in our lives," he wrote. "Now we'll focus on making the world a better place for our child and the next generation."

Zuckerberg also revealed the couple had struggled with three miscarriages over the past several years.

"You feel so hopeful when you learn you're going to have a child," he wrote. "You start imagining who they'll become and dreaming of hopes for their future. You start making plans, and then they're gone. It's a lonely experience."

He said he chose to address the often-taboo topic in an effort to create "understanding and tolerance" in "today's open and connected world."

"We hope that sharing our experience will give more people the same hope we felt and will help more people feel comfortable sharing their stories as well," the post reads.

Both mom and baby are healthy, the post said. Zuck even saw the baby gave him "a thumbs up 'like'" during an ultrasound.

"I'm already convinced she takes after me," he said.
