Kelly Osbourne: I'm Not Racist, I Just 'Whole-Hearted F**ked Up Today'

As a guest host on "The View," her attempted dig at Donald Trump's anti-Latino comments went horribly wrong.

Kelly Osbourne's attempt to take a shot at Donald Trump's recent anti-Latino remarks went off the rails Tuesday during an appearance as a guest host on "The View."

As the co-hosts dished on the Republican presidential candidate's hot-button comments about immigration, co-host Rosie Perez noted that many Latinos in the U.S. agree "that the immigration problem is a problem and it does need to be addressed and it does need to be fixed."

Perez added that Trump making "those racist comments" doesn't help. That's when Osbourne made a quip that fell flat.

"If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?" Osbourne said.

After a notable awkward silence (and one gasp of shock), Perez challenged Osbourne's comment while the other co-hosts tried to clarify Osbourne's point.

"Oh, I didn't mean it like that, come on," Osbourne said. "No, I would never mean it like that."

In a statement to The Huffington Post, Osbourne said through her representative:
I want to start by saying I ALWAYS take responsibility for my actions. In this particular case I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words but I will not apologize for being a racist as I am NOT. I whole-hearted f**ked up today. I don’t want to bulls**t anyone with lame excuses. Although, I was stopped mid-sentence by Rosie and couldn’t finish my point I will not let Rosie take responsibility for my words. I should have known better as I was on The View and it was live. I’ve learned a very valuable lesson. It is my hope that this situation will open up a conversation about immigration and the Latin community as a whole. By the way I clean my own f**king toilets.

The women made nice by the end of the show, with Perez apologizing to Osbourne for "being overly sensitive" and Osbourne telling Perez her apology was unnecessary and that she "had every right" to be upset.

"No, Kelly Osbourne is on our side and I was sensitive," Perez said. "My disdain should go to only Donald Trump, so I'm sorry, darling."

"No, you don't have to apologize to me," Osbourne said. "I love you, Rosie."

Perez went on to extend an olive branch to Osbourne via Twitter:

But despite Perez and Osbourne coming to an understanding, not everyone on social media was so willing to give the "Project Runway Junior" judge a pass for her remark.

Osbourne's remarks are surprising considering all the drama that went down on "Fashion Police" earlier this year. During the Academy Awards, the former "Fashion Police" star and her co-host Guiliana Rancic were roundly criticized for comments made about the locs hairstyle of singer-actress Zendaya Coleman.

Osbourne insisted that she never made comments about Coleman -- only Rancic did -- and threatened to leave the show unless everyone involved in the incident "[made] it right." Though Rancic publicly apologized for the remarks, Osbourne ultimately quit the E! fashion program.
