MINNEAPOLIS, Aug 26 - One worker has died and another was seriously injured when they fell on Wednesday while performing roofing work on a football stadium being built in downtown Minneapolis for the Minnesota Vikings, an official with the stadium contractor said.

The workers immediately received medical attention at the U.S. Bank Stadium site and were taken to a hospital, John Wood, a Mortenson Construction senior vice president, said in a statement.

All work on the stadium has stopped, Wood said.

Earlier this month, Mortenson said the stadium was about 70 percent completed and 1,300 workers were completing about $1.8 million of work each day. It is due to be completed in July 2016.
