Nicki Minaj's well-publicized discontent with the MTV Video Music Award nominations wasn't enough to keep her away from opening Sunday's show alongside brief Twitter adversary Taylor Swift. The rapper kicked off the telecast with a rowdy performance of her latest single, "Trimi Dem Girls," before Swift joined her onstage for "The Night Is Still Young" and "Bad Blood." Yep, it's still mad love.

Minaj, whose appearance was announced just a few days before the VMAs, tweeted in July that her popular "Anaconda" clip was snubbed for Video of the Year because MTV honors work that "celebrates women with very slim bodies." Taylor Swift, who received a nod for "Bad Blood," took it upon herself to respond to Minaj's comments, launching a back-and-forth between the two pop stars that the entertainment media ate up. Eventually, Katy Perry got involved, Azealia Banks chimed in, Kim Kardashian fired off a tweet that inadvertently appeared to reference the incident and now host Miley Cyrus has offered her two cents. But the bad blood is apparently behind them. Swift apologized and invited Minaj to join her onstage if she wins.
