John Oliver Breaks Canadian Law To Blast Canada's Prime Minister

"Do you want to dance, Canada?!"

On Sunday's "Last Week Tonight," John Oliver took a break from the everyday craziness of the U.S. to address some of the slightly chillier everyday craziness going on with our polite neighbors to the north.

Canada's prime minister, Stephen Harper, is currently in a tight three-way race to remain in office. And while his opponents may not be the perfect candidates, Harper is far and away the most Lex Luthor of the bunch.

The conservative has scaled back environmental protections, reduced healthcare for some refugees, and regularly pandered to Islamaphobes, as Oliver explains in the video.

Oliver laughed at a law prohibiting outsiders from telling citizens who to vote for, which comes with a $5,000 fine and possibly 6 months in prison.

Watch John Oliver flaunt $5,000, then present his own campaign ad against prime minister Harper, all in the most Canadian way possible.

A beaver, a moose and Mike Myers are involved.
